In order to prevent the emergence and spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), a complex of all necessary sanitary-anti-epidemic and medical-diagnostic measures is being carried out in the institutions of the penal system.

To date, 8,536 cases of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been registered among persons held in penitentiary institutions, of which 7685 cases have recovered.

Patients with a new coronavirus infection are isolated and under constant supervision of medical workers. The department has organized round-the-clock monitoring and control of the epidemiological situation.

Depending on the epidemiological situation of the new coronavirus infection in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, restrictive measures have been introduced in a number of institutions of 35 territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia also organized events for vaccination against coronavirus infection of suspects, accused and convicted persons within the framework of the calendar of preventive vaccinations for epidemic indications and in accordance with the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Vaccination against COVID-19 is carried out with vaccines registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, according to the instructions for voluntary use for citizens who have no medical contraindications.

Currently, 198,914 suspects, accused and convicted persons have been vaccinated against the new coronavirus infection. In a number of territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, vaccination of suspects, accused and convicted persons was more than 60%. Vaccination continues.
